As an MT member, help build a performance-driven, internationally scalable organisation that remains unmistakably My Jewellery.

Job description

My Jewellery is entering a major phase of international growth and organisational transformation. With approximately 1,200 colleagues, 70 boutiques and a strong position in e-commerce and wholesale, we are moving into our next phase of international growth. Our ambitions are high, and our people make the difference. In every role and across every part of the organisation, colleagues contribute to the success and identity of our brand. Our entrepreneurial energy, distinctive culture and genuine care for one another are what make us strong.

As Head of People & Culture, you are a member of the MT and share responsibility for the overall success of My Jewellery. You are responsible for the entire HR agenda, report to the COO and lead a team of approximately 15 FTE across HR Operations, HR Advisory, L&D and Recruitment. Together with the team, you build a performance-driven, internationally scalable organisation that remains unmistakably My Jewellery.

Sustainable growth requires the right people in the right roles, strong leadership and an environment where people are given opportunities, continue to learn and make progress. As Head of People & Culture, you ensure that our organisation, leadership and ways of working develop at the same pace as our ambitions.

You translate the business strategy into concrete choices around organisation, leadership, talent, performance and reward across our boutiques, operational teams and HQ organisation. You position HR as a strategic and guiding partner to C-level and the MT, make clear what the organisation needs, challenge existing choices when necessary and determine what we build on, what needs to improve and where a different approach is required.

Your tasks

  • Organisation, leadership, culture & performance: you bring our growth strategy to life through our organisational structure, leadership and the knowledge and skills we need. You build a way of working based on clear goals, ownership, regular feedback and consistent leadership. You critically assess roles, processes and workforce capacity and help My Jewellery achieve better results through greater focus, simplicity and stronger teams. Together with the MT, you shape how AI and automation are used across the organisation and what this means for roles, teams, skills and workforce capacity. You encourage a culture of continuous improvement. We set high standards, while working together, supporting one another and taking responsibility for our shared results;

  • Talent, development & reward: you ensure My Jewellery attracts, develops and retains the people we need now and in the future, from our Boutiques and distribution centre to HQ and leadership positions. You improve how we recruit and onboard colleagues, create clear development and career opportunities, and ensure strong leadership and effective succession for key positions. In doing so, you find the right balance between creating opportunities for internal talent and selectively bringing in new knowledge and experience;

  • Reward & incentives: you further develop our reward and incentive approach so that performance and impact are clearly recognised. The choices you make are transparent and explainable, help retain exceptional talent and can be applied across the different countries in which we operate;

  • An HR team that looks ahead: you bring HR Operations, HR Advisory, L&D and Recruitment together as one strong team with clear priorities, ownership and high standards. You lead the shift from reactive support to proactive advice: HR looks ahead, identifies what the organisation needs and is involved early in decisions around growth, change, performance and workforce capacity;

  • Leadership accountability: managers remain responsible for the leadership, development and results of their teams. HR provides clear frameworks, relevant insights, expertise and practical support, enabling them to fulfil that responsibility effectively;

  • International foundations & people insights: you build an HR operating model that supports international growth and is robust enough for the phase beyond it. Processes, systems and policies become scalable, compliant and as consistent as possible, while allowing for relevant local differences and providing a recognisable experience for candidates and employees. You ensure reliable insights into performance, talent, capacity and engagement, so that important decisions about people and teams are informed by data, context and professional judgement.

Job requirements

  • You have an academic level of working and thinking and at least 15 years of relevant HR experience, including several years in a senior HR leadership role with overall responsibility;

  • You have led a multidisciplinary HR team of a comparable size and have demonstrably taken it to the next level;

  • You have HR leadership experience in both a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment and an international organisation with greater scale, multiple countries and more developed processes. Experience in retail and with different employee populations, from Boutiques and the distribution centre to HQ, is a strong advantage;

  • You have a strong track record in organisational transformation, performance management, leadership development, culture and HR professionalisation. You also have solid experience in talent management, reward strategy, organisational design and internationally scalable HR processes;

  • You think strategically and, as an MT member, take responsibility for the overall direction and results of My Jewellery. At the same time, you remain close enough to execution to make change happen in practice. You are independent, analytical and decisive, ask challenging questions, make clear choices and combine high standards with genuine commitment. You communicate excellently in both Dutch and English.

We are looking for someone who consciously chooses My Jewellery, wants to stay close to our boutiques, distribution centre and HQ, and understands that sustainable performance starts with people, leadership and behaviour. Someone who gets energy from our brand and entrepreneurial mindset, combines strategic strength with a hands-on approach and turns change into reality.
