  • €5,000 - €8,000 per month
  • Finance

Build and shape My Jewellery’s procurement function and make a direct commercial impact within a fast-growing international organisation.

Job description

My Jewellery is growing rapidly. With seventy boutiques, more than 1,000 colleagues, a strong position in e-commerce and wholesale, and further international growth ahead, the scale and complexity of our procurement activities are increasing too. Today, our indirect spend is spread across almost 1,000 suppliers, covering everything from logistics and facilities to software and professional services. Procurement within My Jewellery is still largely decentralised. That’s where you come in.

As Procurement Lead, you build our procurement function from the ground up. You create structure and transparency, identify the biggest commercial opportunities and take a seat at the table with our most important suppliers. You have plenty of room to shape the role, work directly with our CFO and collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation.

During your first twelve months, you develop procurement from a largely decentralised activity into a mature commercial function. You create visibility across our spend and supplier base, determine category priorities together with the business and build a clear sourcing and savings pipeline. For our key spend areas, you develop category strategies and work closely with Finance to ensure commercial results are demonstrably reflected in our P&L, cash flow or investments.

At the same time, you lay the foundations for the longer term. My Jewellery aims to continue growing significantly over the coming years. This requires a procurement function that not only reduces costs, but also contributes to scalability, quality, continuity and strong supplier relationships.

You won’t be starting entirely from scratch. For several categories, we already work with a specialised external procurement agency. You act as My Jewellery’s lead contact and ensure their expertise, activities and results become an integral part of the procurement approach you continue to build.

This isn’t a role where you simply put processes and policies in place. You build and execute: you spot commercial opportunities, negotiate with confidence and build support across the organisation for a more commercially driven approach to procurement.

Your tasks

  • You map our spend, suppliers and contracts and identify the biggest commercial opportunities and risks;

  • You develop category strategies for our key spend areas and determine where tendering, renegotiation, standardisation or demand management creates the most value;

  • You lead key commercial negotiations and tenders, analyse cost structures, compare alternatives and look beyond the quoted price;

  • You take a total cost of ownership approach and demonstrate how our own choices, specifications and volumes influence costs;

  • You work closely with budget owners and the Management Team, helping them make stronger commercial decisions. You are confident in challenging existing choices while building support for change;

  • Together with Finance, you develop a clear approach to benefits tracking, ensuring results are not just visible on paper but are reflected in our financial performance;

  • You develop procurement governance and determine which procurement processes should be managed centrally and where ownership can remain within the business;

  • You manage external procurement specialists, embed their expertise and results within My Jewellery and advise when the scale and maturity of procurement call for further expansion of the team.

Job requirements

  • You have extensive senior-level experience in procurement, category management or commercial supplier management, including experience building or professionalising a procurement function;

  • You have extensive experience in complex commercial negotiations, sourcing and category management and can demonstrate tangible results;

  • You are highly analytical, can independently conduct spend analyses and translate large amounts of spend and supplier data into clear commercial decisions;

  • You are a credible and confident business partner for the CFO, COO, Management Team and other budget owners, combining a critical mindset with strong stakeholder management skills;

  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s level of education and thinking and are fluent in both Dutch and English.

Experience in retail, e-commerce or logistics is a plus. Experience with categories such as transport, flexible labour, packaging, store investments or direct spend makes your background particularly relevant.

The scope grows with you

You start with responsibility for our indirect spend. Store investments are also part of your scope from day one. With our continued growth and new boutique openings, there is significant potential for a more centralised and commercially driven approach.

Over time, we expect Procurement to play a larger role in the commercial terms surrounding our direct spend as well. As a result, the total spend influenced by Procurement can grow significantly.
